DO THE TRAILWALKER OXFAM APPEAL

by dianadalsgaard @ 12/17/2007 - 10:40:36

Dear all,

If anyone reads this, we are desperately looking for 2 people to put together a team of 4 to do the Oxfam trailwalk in July 2008 or to support a good cause by donating.
As I'm sure most of you know, the challenge is to trek 100 km in 30 hours, having raised a minimum of 1,650 quid/team in order to participate (it costs £150/ team to get in before 1st of Feb 2008). The money will go to Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust to help eradicate poverty in the world. This will be a new challenge for our humble legs and for our fighting spirit.

We can do this together!
Let us know

The LONDON trekkers

>>"and you don't even say where you are". Who are you looking for, exactly?

Hi Tash,

For more info re: Trailwalker 2008, you could visit Oxfam's website (also to prove my credibility).

Re: us, we're based in London (hence 'the London trekkers'), and we are looking for somebody ready to walk the mile (in July 2008), after having raised the money for charity together with us. We're young and dedicated and want to do this not only for a good purpose, but also in order to socialise. It's a special experience. Interested?

I thought you meant something else. And my interest is irrelevant, there's a lot of geography between me and London nowadays (though I've been there a while back).

Good luck with it all!

Thx Tashua,

Btw nice name...I once wrote a story where one of the characters was named Tashua.

Anyway, the registration deadline is coming up and am about to renew my posts...hoping to get the last 2 members of the team in.

cheers

...a horse.

so where in the world do u write from? (curiosity killed the cat, but am taking my chances)

A horse? :)

That's nice. I like horses. Well, I write 5 hours from you, ten million meters or so distance.

And I don't even say where I am. But then again, why does it matter, my words are ...here.

i'll guess: it's 5 hours WEST of London, right?

As the wind blows. But then again, winds sometimes blow FROM the west.

Hope you're not just interested in my whereabouts because I remind you of an old story about a horse....are you?

Not to mention it IS a little politically incorrect to enquire. As I said, it's no matter, as long as words are on a blog, I might as well be in...Bombay?

...or maybe I am.

You don't have exceptional memory. If memory would serve, which I doesn't really, you have no memory at all except a nice fabrication of a reality that suits you. Please tell me again how I have influenced your life, s'il te plait?

You "showed up" in a place where I write, and commented on something you have no idea about, portraying yourself as somebody who would somehow have a moral right to do so just because "as opposed to those people, you know me". As a matter of fact, you and I don't know each-other. I don't know you, you don't know me. It is highly presumptuous to speak in the first place, wouldn't you say, just because...what? You looked into my eyes once?

As you, I claim "exceptional memory".

And before you die, you will meet me again, I can promise you. Will you look at me then and still find yourself amused by my conundrums, and remark that I shouldn't "emulate"?

Your "admin" did not delete your post; and I wonder why would anybody create 15 blogs. I know how I found you, and I know what I wanted when I looked for you. And before I will go back to silence, you might consider that this is a dual opportunity. It makes me smile to think that, for a second, you pondered: "hey, wtf, I'll tell this guy I knew "Shame on you!" and then make a run for it, and let this be the famous last words"...

...grow up!

You know what? This was dumb to begin with.

I do apologize for having continued this needlessly. Hope you have a happy life, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Thank you for replying to what I wrote, to the extent you did; it was good, after all these years.

You take care of yourself,

Vania,

T.

Yes Bruce, I still am, although I am getting more desperate by the day. oxfam has raised the stakes as well, so now the donated amount is bigger.
good news is, there are similar projects and i'd be happy to discuss them with you. comment here if you think you might be interested and thx for checking me up...
